Key Lime Cove

We surprised Edison with a surprise weekend trip to Key Lime Cove waterpark in Gurnee.  He was really confused in the car when Brian pulled up to the hotel.  He said, "Are you going the right way, Dad?" and then when we pulled up to the front he was pretty confused until we told him we were staying.  Then he said, "Wait, what?" and started cheering.  =)  It was a nice surprise for him.

Unfortunately, Brian woke up that day not feeling well, and by Saturday morning he was feeling worse.  I drove him home that morning, and Edison and I went back to the hotel for another night of playing in the arcade and swimming.  We felt bad that Brian couldn't enjoy the fun with us, but at least he was able to rest comfortably at home.  Luckily we only live about a half hour away from Key Lime Cove, so it wasn't a big deal to take him home.

Edison had a good time, though, and it was nice to get away for a couple days!
