Cub Scout Winter Campout

We decided at the last minute not to spend the night in the cabin, but Edison still had a lot of fun at the camp out on Saturday!  It was really cold and snowy, but that did not stop the kids from having a blast sledding down the hill behind the cabin.  They also had time to launch their rockets that they built a few weeks ago.  There was some time to play a few games like Jenga and Uno, plus running around with friends.  We had a yummy pasta dinner, smores, and hot chocolate, too.  After dinner, a few brave adults (not me and Brian!) took the kids back outside for some night sledding.  Edison said it was a lot of fun and he carried his camping lantern down the hill on the front of his sled.  He said it made it not as scary.  We left to go home after the sledding, and everyone was really tired when we pulled into the driveway.  We thought we would have a relaxing Sunday at home, but Edison decided he wanted to go out and see the new Lego Movie.  It was pretty good and Edison is looking forward to seeing it again! =)

It was a long way back up the hill!

Rocket time!  Edison got to push the button!
 Blast off!
It came back down to earth with no problem.
 Jenga time!
Getting crazy with the Jenga pieces
 Edison's tower
 The Four Musketeers playing Uno
Edison and Dad taking the knife safety class
 Learning how to carve soap
The Bear and Webelo dens earning their knife safety cards
Edison was nervous at first, but got the hang of it.  And no one lost a finger! =)
