Cub Scout Field Trip

Edison enjoyed a tour of the Buffalo Grove Public Works Department and an extra trip to one of the water pump stations today.  He liked seeing all the different trucks, cars, machines, and equipment that is used daily.  We even saw the place where street signs are made!  Each scout was able to take home their own sign as well.  It was a nice way to spend a morning off of school!

Edison found a penguin in the office!
This truck was full of sand for the sandbags they were making for the Des Plaines River
A fire truck in the mantainance area. They have machines that can raise a whole fire truck up in the air!  (We didn't get to see it in action, though.)
Watching a car get worked on
 Checking out the big trucks!
 Exploring a bulldozer
This tire was taller than Edison! (But just barely)

 More trucks!
 Talking about the woodchipper
At the water pump station.  This was a big generator that was really loud when turned on!
Watching the computer readouts of the different pumps
 Water pumps
This is the well pump that is used if the Lake Michigan water cannot be used for some reason
Under this field is the water reservoir
Each Scout got his own sign!
