Edison's first game! (Finally!)

Edison finally played his first game tonight! He did very well and got a hit on the first pitch of his first at bat.  He didn't score, but he was happy to get a hit.  He struck out his next at bat, but had some good swings.  He played all kinds of positions today, center field, shortstop, right field, and second base. He was quick to cover second, but never had a chance to field the ball today.  Just that kind of day. The boys did well, but lost 3-1.  Their only run was a home run!  That was exciting!  Edison had fun and we have 2 more games this week!  We're making up a rain date on Friday night, then a game Saturday afternoon. Go Angels!

Cleaning up for Earth Day!

We joined the Geocachers of NE Illinois (GONIL) to help clean up the bike path that they sponsor in honor of Earth Day coming up this week.  Edison had fun looking for and picking up lots of garbage along the path. We crossed some bridges over railroad tracks and even saw a couple trains go by.  The path was 1.5 miles long, and by the time we were headed back, Edison was hungry, tired, and whiny. He was very happy to get to the restaurant afterwards and have a yummy burger!

Cub Scout Field Trip

Edison enjoyed a tour of the Buffalo Grove Public Works Department and an extra trip to one of the water pump stations today.  He liked seeing all the different trucks, cars, machines, and equipment that is used daily.  We even saw the place where street signs are made!  Each scout was able to take home their own sign as well.  It was a nice way to spend a morning off of school!

Brian's Road Trip to WI, MN, SD, ND, MT, SK and MB

I took a geocaching road trip through WI, MN, SD, ND, MT, SK and MB from April 11 to April 14.  We drove 2480 miles.  Here are some pictures from my trip.

Not many places to eat in Wheaton, MN, especially at 8:15pm, so we ate at the American Legion Hall.

We tried to go to the  Theodore Roosevelt National Park for a cache but it was closed.

Instead, I reversed off the bridge and back into the gravel road.
