I wouldn't say Edison is very excited about going back to school, but I think he was happy with his new teacher and the fact that a few good friends are in his homeroom with him. It will be nice to get back to the routine of the school year as well. This is his last year at Meridian, and it should be a great one! He is also excited about starting back in Orchestra. He has practice 2 times a week after school, so the music will start to get even more difficult. I'm excited to see what they play this year!

Last day of Summer Vacation
Edison wanted to have fun on his last day of summer break, so he picked to go to Action Territory in Kenosha, WI. He went there on a field trip this summer and said it was a lot of fun. He invited his friend, Ryan, and they had a blast riding go karts, playing video games, playing laser tag, and mini golf. It really was a fun day!
Then tonight we met his teacher, saw his classroom, and he practiced opening his new locker. The 6th grade classrooms look a lot different, and there is a huge lounge area in front of his classroom that the 6th graders use frequently. He's excited (a little) about starting the new year, but he wishes summer could go on a bit longer!

Visiting in Springfield Missouri
Edison, Grandma Turner, and I had a great time visiting family in Springfield, MO last week. It was so much fun hanging out with the boys and having some "baby time" with the new little ones. Gabe has grown so much since we visited in the spring, and Emmett and Nathan are just growing up way too fast! Edison had a great time playing tablet games with them, and they even had a fun few rounds of movie charades. We were invited to the Life 360 Community Dinner on Sunday night and I enjoyed helping out with the kids while Liz and Jeremy prepared dinner. We had yummy chicken, veggies, and fruit salad and then I helped clean up in the kitchen. We were all tired that night! We also spent some time at Chuck E Cheese and the pool, and I had a blast babysitting whenever I could. The Hahn's newest foster baby is adorable and even though every single shirt I brought ended up with spit up on it, it was worth the cuddle time! We had a visit from Grandpa Turner while we were in town too. I don't think we had much downtime when we were there, but it was super fun! We can't wait for our next visit!
