Key Lime Cove

We surprised Edison with a surprise weekend trip to Key Lime Cove waterpark in Gurnee.  He was really confused in the car when Brian pulled up to the hotel.  He said, "Are you going the right way, Dad?" and then when we pulled up to the front he was pretty confused until we told him we were staying.  Then he said, "Wait, what?" and started cheering.  =)  It was a nice surprise for him.

Unfortunately, Brian woke up that day not feeling well, and by Saturday morning he was feeling worse.  I drove him home that morning, and Edison and I went back to the hotel for another night of playing in the arcade and swimming.  We felt bad that Brian couldn't enjoy the fun with us, but at least he was able to rest comfortably at home.  Luckily we only live about a half hour away from Key Lime Cove, so it wasn't a big deal to take him home.

Edison had a good time, though, and it was nice to get away for a couple days!

Christmas Day!

We had a wonderful Christmas morning at home, then headed out to Grandpa Schroeder's house to celebrate Christmas with family.  Edison had a good time ripping through his presents this morning.  He got a 3DS, a new rc truck, clothes, books, and a balance board.  He could not wait to start playing the 3DS and Daddy had it set up in no time for him. Once we got to Grandpa's house, Edison had more fun opening presents and playing with his cousins.  It was a fun and busy day!
