Edison's Winter Orchestra Concert

Edison had his second orchestra concert of the year last Thursday evening.  The kids have come so far in just a year!  They did an excellent job!  I also added a link to him practicing his audition song for Chamber Orchestra (which he made!)

Here are some links to the songs!

Celebrating an Early Christmas

Grandma and Grandpa Schultz were in town, so we celebrated Christmas a little bit early this year.  We had lots of yummy food, enjoyed spending time with family, and opened presents! Jeremiah was so much fun this year and a ham for the camera! It was a very nice afternoon before the big snow!

Happy Halloween!

I know it's taken me a while to get the Halloween pictures up!  Sorry about that!  I think everyone is finally healthy in the house...at least for now!  Enjoy!

Edison was a "Rich Guy" for Halloween.  He had lots of different ideas, but went with this one.  He had fun wearing the costume to school too.  Since I was sick this day, Brian took him out and followed him in the car while he trick-or-treated.  He ended up meeting up with some friends, so he had a blast.  And got A LOT of candy!  =)

Concert Orchestra Fall Concert

Here are a few video links from Edison's first Concert Orchestra Concert.  They did a nice job!  The second video is a little long, it was a story told by a 6th grade teacher (Englishman, love his accent!) and the kids made sound effects during it.  Pretty cool.

Edison is excited about orchestra this year.  He gets the opportunity to try out for Chamber Orchestra in December, which is a smaller orchestra that will play a couple times during the year.  He is also considering the Solo Contest in February, where he will play a solo piece with piano accompaniment and be evaluated on it.  I really hope he does it, it's a great experience!

Please let me know if these work or not!  Thanks!

Six Flags

Edison and I had fun at Six Flags for Fright Fest with some friends.  He went on some new rides he hadn't tried before, but stayed away from the rollercoasters except for the Whizzer, which he loves!  He also enjoyed "winning" a Freddy Bear from Five Nights at Freddy's (ask him about the game and he will talk your ear off!) We each played Wack-a-mole twice to win it.  We played against each other and 2 wins gave you the bigger prize.  So it cost $20, which is what he would have spent in the gift shop (at least!) so I gave in and we played.  It was a fun day!  We cut it a little short because lightening was spotted, but we were getting tired anyway.  He can't wait to go back!
